About the Position:

The Patient Intake Coordinator will be responsible for checking patients in and out, collection of co-pays, posting payments, scheduling and answering calls. Customer service is important to us and we are looking for a team player that can handle all aspects of the job in a professional manner.  

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (DocuTap is a plus)
• Administering the patient call-in and wait lists
• Answering phones, taking messages or directing to appropriate staff if necessary
• Receiving and entering patient demographic and insurance information
• Understanding medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes is a plus
• Understanding of billing process is a plus
• Receiving patient co-pays, deductibles and payments
• Informing clinical staff when patients are ready for treatment
• Ensuring all critical billing information and payment is received prior to patient check-out
• Checking out patients
• Making sure front office is clean during shift
• Insurance Verification

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certificate
• 1 year of medical receptionist experience, required
• 1 year of  insurance verification experience, required
• Familiar with computers and the internet
• Must know Microsoft Word and Excel
• 2 years of recent medical office experience (within the last 3 years)
• 2 years of recent verification of benefits experience (within the last 3 years)
• Must have experience scheduling patients & understand benefits verification and explanation
