About the Position:

The Physician Assistant at Nightlight Pediatric Urgent Care often works independently with minimal supervision. They obtain the patients’ history by communicating with patients and their caregivers and conduct physical examinations. For clinical responsibilities, the Physician Assistant will perform procedures, such as: laceration repairs, incision and drainage of abscesses, and application of splints, etc. as well as the administration of medications and vaccinations. Due to the young age of our patients, you will need to be able to take into account their immature physiology when considering symptoms, calculating and prescribing medications, and performing care. Although we have radiologists on staff to provide reports on imaging, you will need to interpret lab results and imaging studies reports. You will also need to provide assessments and clearly document and communicate care plans to the child’s caregivers and primary pediatricians to facilitate continuous care. Regarding more administrative duties, the Physician assistant at Nightlight will handle patient phone calls and faxes along with pharmacy calls regarding patient visits, prescriptions, labs, and imaging studies. Because we are a pediatric urgent care, you will need to have the patience and compassion necessary to care for young patients and their caregivers during this stressful time.
